Facial Consultations:

It is an important first step to carefully evaluate what has happened in the past and what needs to be done. It is also important to determine, at times, if anything should be done at all. At the initial consultation, it is requested that you tell us clearly what you would like to achieve. What needs to be done to achieve these goals will be discussed. There is no charge for a facial consultation.

ELOS Refirme Treatments:

Two treatments are available that combine radiofrequency and light to transmit energy into either of two different layers of tissue to improve the deep skin and subcutaneous tissues. Refirme stimulates collagen production and tightens the subcutaneous tissues to lessen wrinkling and perform a moderate noninvasive facelift. There are no incisions and no major downtime. The photo treatments decrease redness and brown pigment spots. A series of treatments is recommended for optimal results.

GentleWaves / Photomodulation Treatments :

Photomodulation is a treatment of yellow light that stimulates the skin and subcutaneous tissues with resulting decrease in redness and brown spots with an increase in collagen. Fine wrinkling decreases, acne improves, and the skin looks generally better. This is a very noninvasive treatment that can be done quickly and without significant time committment. A series of treatments is recommended for optimal results.

Facial Exercises :

A good facial exercise program enhances your total package of facial improvement. The skin of your face is draped over your facial bones and muscles. Keeping good tone in your facial muscles is absolutely necessary if you want to optimize the appearance of your face.

Skin Care :

The general care of your skin will always be discussed.Skin care is the foundation of your facial well-being, whether your consultation was initialized by questions that are medical or surgical in nature. Home skin care programs are a cornerstone of facial care. They usually include the use of glycolic products and may frequently include the newer copper complex creams, washes, or a hydrating gel.

Scientific studies have demonstrated that copper plays a vital role in skin health, by helping restore the skin's ability to repair itself. Copper is a powerful collagen and elastin promoter and plays an antioxidative role in the body. It is important in the production of glycosaminoglycans, which cement tissue components to each other.  Using products containing copper complexes as a part of your facial care program is important.

Glycolic Washes (Peels):

Several different strengths of glycolic acid can be applied to your face in an MD supervised program.

Glycolic Acid, at lower strengths is used as an exfoliant and at higher strengths is used as a mild chemical peel. As an exfoliant it softens and loosens the dry, dead skin cells that form a barrier layer on the skin surface. This allows the skin to shed the dead cells. This process uncovers new skin cells to reveal a smoother, moister and fresher skin surface. At the same time it peels off dead layers of skin, Glycolic Acid loosens the natural oils and dirt that build up in pores. This deep cleansing action minimizes the appearance of the pores and reduces the development of pimples or blackheads.

Glycolic Acid also stimulates circulation to the skin. By doing this the body's production of elastin and collagen is increased so that the skin is more supple.  The new living cells retain moisture better which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  By decreasing the barrier of dead skin cells, it becomes easier for topical medications to penetrate the skin surface, creating better therapeutic results.

Glycolic Acid as part of the treatment of many skin conditions including acne, precancerous lesions, keratoses, melasma, and/or other excessive pigmentation problems.

Microdermabrasion:

Microdermabrasion is another way to remove layers of dead skin from the face.  It does it in a mechanical way, using aluminum crystals to loosen dead skin cells

Facials of several diffent types, both moisturizing and " treatment " facials are available.
